The key to effective advocacy is member/chapter support and involvement in advocating for issues that affect patients and the practice of medicine, and are consistent with ACP policy. ACP National's advocacy is focused at the federal level and we do not systematically monitor or have the capacity to analyze specific state-level legislation/regulations or routinely engage in state-level issues. However, the ACP Washington, DC office is available to assist chapters on a multitude of other advocacy issues.
