Unofficial Events are functions that take place during Internal Medicine Meeting, but are not planned or supported by the American College of Physicians (ACP). ACP allows exhibiting companies to host approved unoffical events; however, these events may not conflict with the Scientific Program. Unofficial Event requests must be submitted via this form for approval. Function space may not be reserved without written approval from the ACP Exhibit Team.
Approved unofficial events include, but are not limited to:Industry-Supported Symposia: Strictly educational functions that offer CME accreditation. Only ACP-approved Symposia are permitted. For more information, please visit our Industry-Supported Symposia page.Committee Meetings: May be held by committees, task forces, boards of universities, or non-profit organizations.Focus Groups/Market Research: Investigator meetings that target a specific group of attendees to obtain specific data. Requests to conduct research at Internal Medicine Meeting must be submitted via the Market Research Form for approval. Investigator meetings can not exceed 25 participants and are restricted to a maximum of 90 minutes.Staff Meetings: Staff meetings that are limited to Exhibitor staff only are permitted
Social Events:Due to ACP policy, purely social events with attendees are not permitted during Internal Medicine Meeting. These include, but are not limited to: breakfasts, receptions, dinners, etc., where there is no educational programming.
